Something for everyone

The FireChill proposition is less about a unit that delivers a stream of 7°C chilled water and more about how it is used in everyday life, how it is applied in the environment to meet a specific need. The development of applications – or Apps – sits at the heart of the FireChill business and it is the company’s intention to focus on their collaborative development. Over the coming years FireChill expects to co-develop hundreds of Apps, some of them specialist for niche markets, others with much broader appeal and meeting the needs of large market sectors.

Potential applications currently under active development:

• Supermarket pre-cooling to reduce load on electric compressors
• District cooling for residential apartment blocks
• Cooling for day-old chicks for the poultry industry
• Injection moulding cooling to prevent single point failure
• Power and cooling for containerised data centres
• Water-making from the air through cooled condensers
• Community system to provide power, water, cooling, heating driven by an anaerobic digester
• Developing rural farmgate refrigeration to reduce waste in the supply chain
